I have a black membership card. Went to the St.Catherines gym. Nice and big but just one
little thing that was shocking. NO WATER FOUNTAIN!
Come on guys we don’t live in a third world country. I can live without the showers but water in a gym is necessary. Especially when you don’t have showers. Unbelievable! Shame on fit 4 less in St Catherine’s. Its a BASIC necessity….shame. I will stick to Niagara Falls at least they have 2 yes 2 fountains.
This is a really nice gym (Victoria BC). Every equipment is available, which gives me a full work out.
A good suggestion would be to have displayed somehow the number of members present at the gym in real time. So far early morning are good for me, but I have to work around my work schedule too. Odyssey Gym on Quesnel Street has a camera on a social media that shows if there is a line up. I think with the cards being scanned at the door it would be easy to display somehow on social media or other media how many members are present in real time.
My only not so positive comment is some of the staff: 2 people at the front desk horsing around with foam rollers when the garbage bins are full, paper towel is missing, spray bottles are empty. Members should not have to go tell them each time that refilling or emptying is needed. Some other staff would rather chat among each other looking at their phones, you come ask a question, and it looks like you’ve interrupted a Muslim prayer. So far I have only seen one female staff (blonde with round glasses) on Sundays that goes around regularly to refill supplies and make sure that everything is in order. She has great attitude and is a good professional image for the company. Please hire more like her.
In Milton, Ontario there are too many youths that act foolish. The always act over masculine, talk inappropriately about the females and leave their garbage and weights lying around.
A couple of night after 10pm, there are these males that play catch across the gym with the exercise balls, spray each other with the cleaner, and run around.
If you are a female or can’t stand childish behaviour … then you better work out mid day or you won’t have a good experience.
Access card is terrible! Very thin and the keychain hold can easily be damaged. Nevertheless, with the small damage on the keychain hold, which broke 2 month after getting the card, I’ve been using it just fine! 7 month later the card stops scanning and I am asked to pay for replacement key?
The customer servie provided by the gentleman who just picked up the phone at West Pender branch in Vancouver was absolutely not in keeping with the bold claims your organization makes here. Absoliutely atrocious and not a great way to start the day.
I am very disappointed in one particular staff member at the Weber Street, Kitchener location.
After all this chaos around COVID with openings and closing, and changes in procedures around paperwork etc., you would think the staff would be more helpful and happy that they are back to work. Instead, my partner and I (seniors) and members for a number of years went to the gym for the first time since back in the last week or so and were rudely spoken to and the militant staff member made us question our return. Instead of politely explaining the new procedures with vaccination and the government code, ID, COVID questions, she was degrading. I hope she looks for a new job that makes her happy, obviously she doesn’t like the one she has. Signed, disappointed.
I joined because I work shifts & need 24 hours access. They don’t want to pay for someone to look at our proof of vaccines but they will put our membership up & say it’s for extra cleaning??? So did they used to clean only once a day! JOIN AT YOUR OWN RISK
Seems like fit4less is robbing many of us.. I’ve tried to contact my branch for the past 5 months because of charges every month, a year and a half AFTER cancelling my membership. With this many complaints, idk how this company is still operating. They refuse to give me a refund because there’s no proof that I “called and canceled my membership, since there was a pandemic”. I cancelled before the pandemic, but I keep getting the same excuse. Unbelievable
If I could give 0 rate I would have done so, very poor and terrible service, I have been having wrong charges in my account and called the branch more than 5 times to explain the same situation, I have been told I will get a refund and it’s been months now. I have had nothing that worst experience with these people. I want my money back
I canceled my membership in person eons ago and yet I keep getting billed. Fit4Less, I would appreciate my money back.
Im so spitting mad at the Lethbridge, Alberta Fit4Less. Do I have to ask the media for help? Or the Premier of Alberta and the Prime Minister of Canada? How many other ex members are being robbed?
Oct. 3/21 I waited intil 8:50 this morning and no one showed up to open. There were about 10 of us this is not the first time this has happened. Please acknowledge receipt of this e mail and what you propose to do about it.
What 24 hr
Anytime is still 24hr
People leaving back to anytime fitness…they are 24 hr.
Harassed for photo ID and vaccine pass when I have showed it multiple times.
Anytime just puts the info into their computer….and done.
No contact # on website for questions / concerns.
Another usless large corporation that will go bankrupt and try to steal my money like Steve nash/ fitness world.
What a terrible morning. Due to pandemic, I have very limited funds. I was sent an email saying my payment didn’t go through, only to realize the payments were attached to a bank account from my ex husband. When I called to give new information, I was told not only would the $25 nsf fee not be waived (because the. The great big corporation would have to absorb it), but I would be continued to be charged $25 on top of my membership fees for the next month. Even though I explained the situation, the manager told me that I should have remembered this clause from my contact that I signed 5 years ago. I’m in tears, my credit will be ruined once she sends me to collections, which was promised, and even though I offered to pay them in three weeks, nothing changed. I’m horrified. I feel bad for people who are low income who get into trouble and use the gym to cope. I guess I fit that description though since this pandemic hit.
Canceled last September when my renewal was up. With all the covid lockdowns I didn’t realize they started to take money out of my account when they reopened. I called and canceled again, was told it would be put in the book since it wasn’t the first time. I called a few days later and spoke with management, who tells me YET AGAIN, it was NOT put in the book and basically my word was no good. I expressed my frustration as I haven’t been there in a year ( no record of me coming in an purchasing the bracelet either ) I was told a refund would be submitted, 2 weeks later no response and again 2 more withdrawals from my account. Went and spoke with the manager who refused to send a follow up email or give me contact info to reach head office. Terrible customer service and snark remark telling me to ” have a nice day ” with attitude. Staff needs to be trained in customer service, and with the procedures of canceling a membership. On top of the poor quality of the gym itself, I will never do business or recommend this gym. What a terrible mistake I made leaving planet Fitness for this junky gym!
I had to freeze my membership over a month ago because my car broke down. Once it was fixed, I tried to unfreeze it. I’ve never had a problem with unfreezing my membership before. Well, even after a month, it didn’t unfreeze. I was checking my inbox almost daily and making sure nothing ended up in spam or getting accidentally deleted. I contacted the gym, knowing that there was a good chance of the girls at the counter not being able to help. They weren’t, so I tried contacting Fit4Less through social media.
It’s been a very slow back and forth over two weeks, and still no resolution.
However, I log into my bank account today to find out they withdrew $25 from my bank account all at once. I checked my email to see if there was an email to say my account was unfrozen. It was not. Then I realized that charge was beyond what I would pay in a given month, even with a black card membership at a locked in rate.
I cannot call anyone other than the gym itself to get anything done. There is no corporate number I can reach outside of the person in charge of privacy (they can’t do anything). I am sick of trying to make this work.
This is the first series of problems I’ve had with Fit4Less and it seems there’s no way to resolve it. I’m done. I’m cancelling my membership. When you’re a franchise, you need a number and email address so that your members can reach you without having to contact the club itself. They have not been able to resolve my issues, and I know that they can’t because this is a corporate issue. Add ACTUAL corporate contact info to the ‘contact us’ portion to the website.
I’ll be contacting my bank to make sure that Fit4Less cannot take anymore money from my account. Based on the other reviews here, I don’t trust them to fully cancel the membership. Maybe I’m just being paranoid, but I don’t have the excess cash.
Pathetic customer service!! No call complaint or call centre. I am a member of Shoppers world gym at Brampton. They are not able to resolve or update my banking details, went there 6 times. No one listens over there. Every time they assured banking details are changed or updated but still, money getting deducted from my old bank account and the bank is charging me the penalty for overdraft. Disgusting customer service I have never faced such bad customer service in my entire life. So cancelling my membership. No one should join this kind of gym. Below zero or negative rating!!
I’ve been paying for a membership for months now that I havent used. They froze my payments and then kept taking more out. I rarely check my emails frequent enough to know they were doing this. So now I’m out a bunch of money for nothing and when I just called to cancel as I noticed another payment was taken out of my bank account for $11.xx … Then they told me I need to pay for the next month ! So I’ll be out $11 x 2 for a.memebership I don’t use..I get that people are struggling especially businesses but so are we !
I am absolutely furious at the lack of professionalism with this company. I called over 3 weeks ago and spoke to a girl at my gym to inquire about the protocol for covid..I wanted to know if you needed to be vaccinated and what the rule was for masks. She told me that you did not have to be vaccinated and that they were doing their best to keep it clean but were short staffed. that is unacceptable! Are you kidding me? doing your best? This gym before covid was always dirty and many didn,t even clean the equipment after using. I was offered a refund way back when covid first closed the gyms but said that i would like to return when they reopened so just freeze my acct. After hearing this, I want a refund..I paid for the full year and have not been there except for a few weeks in 2019 in March. She told me that she would have to get her supervisor to call me and she would ensure he got my contact number. I asked her for his number and said I would call only to be told he did not have a company phone just his own personal phone…she also told me he would definately call me. Well, 3 weeks later I have still not heard a word from so called supervisor. I will not be returning to the gym. I personally know of 3 people that go to that particular gym who are unvaccinated and I recently saw them post a video of them working out without masks…what the hell….are you kidding me? You can,t find any contact number so yeah, feeling very disheartened and super frustrated.
If Goodlifes showers are open in Halifax NS to use, why aren’t the fit4less? It’s very frustrating considering I live outside the city. May have to go back to Goodlife if they don’t open the showers soon. Our province has no timed bookings at fit4less with staff there from 6am-1015pm. what’s the difference between us cleaning the gym equipment and cleaning the shower before and after using?? It doesn’t make sense
I go to the Fit4Less at 2020 Walkley Road, and it’s my understanding that face masks are still a requirement when entering the gym, and when moving/walking around the gym from one area to another. Since this location reopened on July 16, I have gone at various times between 6 – 10:30am and noticed a number of people who enter the gym wearing a mask, then at some point either remove it or place it under their chin and keep walking around the gym without a mask or without it covering their nose and mouth. There have been times they have walk right past one of the Fit4Less employees maskless, and nothing is being said or enforced! If I am correct, and masks are supposed to be worn in this manner while in the gym…is it not the responsibility of the employees/staff to ensure patrons are adhering to the rules, especially in light of the circulating Delta variant?! If so, it would be nice if the staff followed though with enforcing the statements Fit4Less has made to keep their customers safe because right now, that is not the case at this location!
Customer Service is non existent. I’m here because I’m still unable to get a response or resolution. I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND THIS GYM TO ANYONE, especially those on a student budget which is their target market. THEY HAVE BEEN CHARGING ME FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS AFTER CANCELING **NOT IDEAL WITH A STUDENT BUDGET/ LOAN** I moved from Vaughn in 2018 and canceled my membership. After still seeing charges on my account I called the Woodbridge location from the US, where I currently reside. I said I canceled this and they said I need to come in, in person , with ID and “TRY AGAIN”. I explained I am in the US and not currently flexible so I was given an email to send a photocopy of my ID and explain my case. I followed these instructions. After being told I was cancelled, I assumed it was put to rest. Today I was charged AGAIN almost 3 years later… after contacting my bank it appears I was only not charged during the pandemic. Don’t be fooled by the cheap price, they’ll absolutely rinse you in other ways then make sure you have no way to contact them 🙂 Try Movati, or F45 they’re at least worth the $$ and have a customer service team with competence.
I would like to comment on the location that I use the most. CenterPoint Mall location is well managed and the staff are always busy maintaining the gym. I have seen 3 managers since I started going to this location many years ago and they all seem to have the same mind set.
When I went back to gym last Friday and there was a member that was very rude and impatient with staff at the desk. The customer was interrupting the manager as he was assisting another customer. Manager was calm and cool in dealing with this entitled human.
Gym always clean.
Went to the gym in Kingston not realizing you still had to book a time and was told I could not come in without booking. I asked what the capacity was and was told 125 and there was only a hand full of people there. I questioned her on that and asked since it is not at capacity why can’t I go in and she said they were not excepting walk ins anymore. I went on line and was able to book that time and went back with a print out of the confirmation but she refused again to let me in as she said it didn’t show up in her system. I went to the website and it still says if you don’t arrive within 15 minutes of your booking the timeslot will be automatically cancelled and given to another member which means you should be able to go in without a booking. Can someone please let me know what is going on there is no reason if you are a member and the time slot is not full that you can’t go in?
Unable to get any customer service. Trying to schedule a time, nothing is ever available. Now I am getting a message that says my membership is invalid. No number to reach anybody. Website says go to the gym and use their machines there. Gym is closed. Why can’t I get customer service from a human at the gym??
How do you get in touch with these people. My gym opens on Friday and I don’t have my membership number. I don’t have my contract and forgot my password. So now what. You have no way to get a hold of the,
Where is customer service number? I mean I filed to freeze my account back in September 2020 but still I am getting charged and there is no contact information for customer service and there is response for the form I filled.
Can’t cancel my membership. There is no such option looks they are fraud and charging money
1st I would say this is a good gym especially if you are on a budget and really self motivated, however the manager (Roxy) at the Macleod location Calgary Alberta is the most rude, unprofessional and ill mannered person I have ever met in my life. I have been working out at this location for over 3years, I booked an appointment, showed up to work out and Roxy told me I can’t because this is not my branch, I said that can’t be right since I know I have effected this change twice now. She basically walked up to me and said she is the manager and I have to leave or she is going to call the cops. I never seen such a power drunk person in my life. I literally told her I think she is power drunk at this point and she said she was going to cancel my membership too (wow). To cut the story short, as far as she is still the “manager” over there, I would like fit4less management to look into how many memberships she’s cancelled and her reasons. And I wouldn’t recommend this location for anybody. I do recommend fit4less for what it is but for this Macleod location please don’t, the manager (Roxy) is horrible.
I was a member at Goodlife burnside Dartmouth NS for the passed 12 yrs but when fit for less showed up I changed my membership because of the price had good experience with them for a yr but after covid Arrived in March 2020 I put my gym on hold by calling them up Informing them that I would like to cancel my membership for a short time I then was told that would not be a problem by the manager But weeks later I notice that their money was still coming in to my account I thence called a back again and And spoke to the manager here for me that it will be taken care of 2 weeks pass still money coming on my account I then sent a letter to hit office and received a response saying that it will be taken care of it by email he told me that he sent and email to head office Still no major response from head office I then contacted portman street fitful S in spoke to the new manager and explain my situation her she was very rude to me on the phone and did not help me in any situation at all all I asked and told her that I will no longer be coming to the gym because I don’t feel safe with Covid 19 She did told me that she did not see any letter from manager prior to her becoming new manager to this day I have not gone back to the gym and his not receive any refund or call about my membership as of Jan this yr my membership was canceled and still no reply from any member of fit for less.
I find it absolutely astonishing that the booking process in the Argyle site in London On. allows you to book at midnight because lets be honest with this process -a minute after midnight all the time slots are gone . I am sleeping at that time as I work early in the morning so there is NO way I can stay up that late ( not to find a time slot anyways) .secondly I have been told that its the same people in the gym all the time – there should be a LIMIT to how many times you can go in a 7 day period which would allow time slots for other members . Members that are still working through the Covid period need to workout to manage the stress levels .
Shame on management for this lack luster process
No customer care number to be found for the complaints yet they keep on collecting fees on my account even tho the gym here in calgary is closed? Are they serious?
Same issue as Valerie…
Can’t get a hold of anyone to cancel my membership.
Been was Goodlife for more then 6 years intell fit4less showed up I joined them because of the price vs Good life had good experience from day one but as soon as covid started in March I had not so good experience. Around April I realized it would be best for me to say away from the gym til things cleared as we k ow the gym was closed for a few weeks shortly after covid and reopened after some restrictions came in to place but for me I still did not feel safe so I called them up explaining my problems asked to speak to the manager and as he come on his Attitude was not good experienced to him that it this time I do not plan to go back to the gym til things changed and asked if you can put my account on hold I was informed that he can do that no problem but weeks later Nothing changed I call back a month later speaking to the manager he told me that he would send a letter to head office to this day I have not received any reply
Do not recommend .. searched for contact number for head office to CANCEL membership .. not to be found online. Can suspend or upgrade but cannot cancel .. called gym .. were busy cleaning would not help .. gym closed ..have not attended all year and has been closed …have no intentions of entering a gym due to covid but cannot cancel membership yet money withdrawn every 2 weeks from account
