Questrade is an online brokerage firm and wealth management firm based in Canada. It is Canada’s largest discount broker. It has over $20 billion under management.
Quest Capital Group was launched in 1999 by Edward Kholodenko. He was watching the shift from manual to online trading while running a textiles distribution company in Eastern Europe. The company began in Toronto where customers used terminals connected to the highspeed internet to execute stock trades. It wasn’t until 2002 that the name changed to Questrade, and the company launched their online platform where customers could execute trades anywhere they had an internet connection.
Under Edward Kholodenko’s stewardship, Questrade has assumed a leadership role in Canada’s online direct access brokerage industry and was awarded the designation of Canada’s Best Managed Companies in 2011 and 2012. Edward was nominated to the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2013 due to his success with Questrade.
Questrade provides Canadians with a low-cost solution for self-directed securities investing through a proprietary trading platform and a managed investing solution under the product name Portfolio IQ. Questrade clients can trade via two desktop trading platforms and a mobile app, plus a forex and CFD (Contract for Differences) platform, each offering a different experience.
