BC Ferries customer care and support service

British Columbia Ferries Inc., also known as BC Ferries has been operating in Canada since 1960. Today, it has become the second-largest passenger ferry line in the world.

If you are looking for reliable ferry services to make your summers feel complete, you’ve come to just the right place! As inferred by its name, BC Ferries provides ferries for the communities in the Canadian province of British Columbia.

BC Ferries used to be a crown corporation but gained its independence as a commercial corporation in 2003. However, since BC Ferries provides means of linking the mainland to the various islands surrounding it, they provide access to areas that are often inaccessible by road.

Due to this reason, their services are subsidized by the local government. Don’t be disheartened by this news, BC ferries still aims to maximize your comfort and safety!

  1. I would like to share my experience yesterday with BCFerries. I had to make a day trip on short notice to Vancouver. Spring break and all reservations sold out for the sailings needed. Barely made the 9 am from Swartz Bay by leaving home in Victoria at 7 am. Upon returning to the terminal at Tsawwassen at 2:30 pm, I was in line for the 7 pm ferry. When did this become okay? Unbelievable. No extra sailings either. The 7 pm ferry was approximately a half hour late, etc. we finally offloaded at Swartz Bay at around 9:15 pm. During my many hours at the terminal in Tsawwassen, I noted that the grounds around the terminal are littered with garbage, the ladies washrooms deplorable. This is what we have to show our visitors to BC? Perhaps put some of your unionized employees to work doing more than standing around trying to look important. Finally on the boat for the return trip, voila! deckhands were actually in attendance to make certain cars were parked tightly on board, but in the morning they were not. Leaving it up to drivers, which is absolutely ridiculous. Very dissatisfied with this service at the present time and the obvious 2-tier system with an extra cash grab for reservations. I have been travelling on these boats for many years, this was undoubtedly one of the worst. Get it together BCFerries!

  3. I live in interior
I have not problem with the ferries. They are great.
I do have a problem with the Bathrooms being closed. I go on the Kootenay bay ferry regularly. There is a bathroom at both ends of the ride. I have never seen anyone cleaning in either bathroom ever. There are often lines 10 and more women waiting to get in to the bathroom.
The ferry bathrooms are closed. Meanwhile the ferry workers are wiping the outside railings with anti viral solution. I think it would be better to allow folks to use the bathrooms and clean them with the anti bacterial soap. It would be much more effelctive. If there is anywhere we are going to catch the COVID it will be in the bathrooms with high numbers of people using it and no cleaners.

  4. Their employees are pretty good and the ferries run on time but their reservation booking service is terrible, especially if you want to reserve walk-on tickets. They need to sort that out, I’ve spent hours on hold this morning, totally unreasonable.

  5. Horseshoe Bay terminal would not allow me to board the horseshoe bay to langdale ferry as a walk on, I placed my ticket in to the bucket as instructed and then was stopped and told to go purchase ANOTHER ticket from downstairs at the ticket booth. I showed the proof of purchase and was still not granted on. I then went to customer service to show them my proof of purchase and fb she took that and didn’t give it back. Instructed me to purchase another ticket and in her opinion I was acting aggressive. I had just travelled as a foot passenger with two luggage to pull. I wasn’t acting aggressive I was mistreated and now have missed my ferry. so disappointed!

  7. This will refer to the excellent quality of Service that I received from the following BC Ferries Staff members, Kathy in the Nanaimo Terminal, Greger, John, Brandon, Georgina, Christopher, and Blake. all involved in my transportation via wheel chair while travelling from Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay October 20 and returning to Departure Bay Nanaimo on October 21st on the 12:30 pm sailing both ways. Without this Service I would not have been able to travel as a “walk-On Passenger” These staff members were very kind, with a great disposition, and most obliging to my needs.

    Thank You, Helene Davey
