Becoming independent is a major part of growing up. As the great Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote in his classic essay “Self-Reliance,” “Be yourself; no base imitator of another, but your best self. There is something which you can do better than another. Listen to the inward voice and bravely obey that.” Wow! That’s pretty deep stuff, especially for a customer service guide. Bet you didn’t expect that kind of class. But you know what, that’s just the kind of spirit you need to take with you as you walk into the Canadian grocery store Your Independent Grocer.
Who said the grocery store couldn’t be mystical? Who, I ask you, who?! Established in 1992, Your Independent Grocer has been providing Canadians with all the foodstuffs and medicines they need to live healthy, productive, and (you guessed it) independent lives. Walk with pride, Canada! Although Loblaw Companies now owns Your Independent Grocer, the people who work at these stores are still committed to making all of their customers feel as independent as good old Thomas Jefferson. So, strive onwards. Become your best self. Ascend to the highest pillar of liberty. And, most importantly, always shop at Your Independent Grocer.

I recently purchased 3 Amazon gift card of $50 each, the cards had been tempered with and I couldn’t redeem them, I went back to the store and th cashier told me to come back the following day to talk to the manager. I went back and the manager wouldn’t come to talk to me instead he instructed the cashier to tell me they would not give me a refund. These cards were tempered with before o purchased them and they should have refunded my money. I am very upset and will not let this go. The cashier told me this tempering happens often and didn’t recommend buying them, nice t know now
There is a sign on the door saying masks are mandatory. Two men with no masks walk-in in laughing and talking loudly . They do not sanitize their hands. They don’t practice safe distancing. On my way out a lady with no mask with three kids in the way of people leaving the store smiling and laughing. We are elderly and compromised. why are masks not enforced
