Xplore: problems and outages in real time

Are you an Xplore customer wondering why your internet is down? Check out this outage map. This helpful tool shows where outages are occurring in Canada, allowing users to see if it’s just their issue or if others in their area are also experiencing problems.

The map is updated regularly and displays the province or city where the outages are happening. This allows Xplore customers to understand if their internet troubles are isolated or part of a larger issue.

The second chart shows Xplore’s outage reports received today compared to last week. If the blue line, representing the number of reports received today, is lower than the gray line representing the previous week’s reports, then Xplore’s service may be improving and experiencing fewer outages.

However, it is essential to consider other factors that could affect the number of outage reports, such as a change in the number of Xplornet customers or a shift in their usage habits. Overall, the chart indicates a potential improvement in Xplornet’s service, but further analysis is needed to understand the trend fully.

The third chart in this report provides valuable insight into the frequency of Xplore issues. By tracking the daily reports received since the beginning of the year, users can see patterns and trends in service problems.

This information can be particularly useful for customers who are deciding whether or not to switch providers. It also serves as a way for Xplore to track their performance and work towards improving their service.

About Xplore

When it comes to internet service providers (ISPs), there are plenty of options out there. However, not all ISPs are created equal. This is especially true when it comes to rural internet service providers. Finding an ISP that offers reliable service at a reasonable price in rural areas can be difficult.

Xplore (formerly known as Xplornet) is one of Canada’s leading ISPs and strongly focuses on providing service to rural areas. They have been operating for decades and currently serve over 400,000 customers nationwide. In addition to traditional home internet plans, they also offer mobile internet plans for those who need them.

One thing that sets Xplore apart from other ISPs is its commitment to customer service. They are available 24/7 to help with any issues you may have. They also have an extensive network of dealers and installers across the country, so you can be sure that someone will be able to help you if you need it.

Another thing that makes Xplore a great choice is its flexibility regarding payment options. They understand that many rural residents may not have access to traditional banking options, so they offer various payment options. You can pay by credit card, debit card, cheque, money order, or prepaid card.

If you’re looking for a reliable and affordable internet provider, Xplornet is a great option, especially if you live in a rural area. They offer a variety of plans to meet your needs and budget, and their commitment to customer service is second-to-none.

Recent History

In 2013, Xplornet launched its 4G network, advertised as being up to 10 times faster than its 3G network. However, many customers reported that the 4G service was not as fast as advertised and often cut out entirely. In addition, the 4G network was only available in select areas of the country, leaving many rural customers without access to high-speed internet.

In 2015, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) launched an investigation into Xplornet after receiving numerous customer complaints about hidden fees.

The CRTC found that Xplornet had been charging customers for equipment rental, installation, and modem return even though these services were supposed to be free. As a result of the investigation, Xplornet was forced to refund millions of dollars to affected customers.

In 2016, Xplornet agreed with Bell Canada to use its cellular infrastructure for its wireless internet service. This deal gave Xplornet access to Bell’s LTE network, which was much faster and more reliable than its own 4G network. However, many customers reported that they could not take advantage of this improved service because Bell’s LTE network did not cover their areas.

In 2022, Xplorenet rebranded into Xplore.

Xplore’s Presence in Canada

Since its founding in 2004, Xplornet has invested heavily in infrastructure, building a coast-to-coast wireless and satellite network that delivers high-speed Internet to rural Canadians. In the last few years alone, Xplore has more than doubled the size of its network, making it one of the largest fixed-wireless networks in the country.

Xplore is committed to bridging the urban-rural divide by bringing the benefits of the Internet to all corners of the country.

Whether connecting students in remote communities to online learning opportunities or giving farmers and agri-businesses the tools they need to compete in a global marketplace, Xplore is helping to build a strong and prosperous Canada.

In today’s digital world, high-speed Internet access is no longer a luxury – it’s a necessity. Whether looking for information, shopping online, or connecting with family and friends, the Internet has become an essential part of daily life.

But for many rural Canadians, getting online can be a challenge. According to Statistics Canada, only half of the households in rural areas have access to broadband speeds of 50 Mbps or higher, compared to 90% of households in urban areas.

This digital divide isn’t just an inconvenience – it’s impacting people’s lives and livelihoods. Students in remote communities are disadvantaged when connecting to online learning tools and resources. Businesses struggle to compete when they don’t have access to the same high-speed connectivity as their urban counterparts. And people living in rural areas often find themselves isolated from social media and other online platforms that have become an integral part of modern life.

Xplore is working to close the digital divide by bringing high-speed Internet to all corners of the country, but they can’t do it alone. Federal and provincial governments must recognize rural broadband as a critical infrastructure issue and invest accordingly. They also require their fellow Canadians to continue advocating for change so everyone can enjoy the benefits of being connected.
