OLG first went online in 1992 when it launched Pro-Line, an online terminal sports lottery. Two years later, the Ontario Casino Corporation (OCC) was officially established, after which they opened up multiple new casinos in Ontario.

After launching slot machines at multiple race tracks in Ontario throughout the 1990s, in the year 2000, the government of Ontario merged the Ontario Lottery Corporation (OLC) and the Ontario Casino Corporation (OCC) to form the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

Since then, OLG has become known for its security measures and its mission to generate revenue for the province of Ontario through the promotion of high standards and responsible gaming.

By 2010, OLG had opened Responsible Gambling Resource Centers at 27 of its gaming facilities across Ontario. Two years later, OLG outlined plans to revitalize Ontario’s regulated gaming industry, after which OLG began introducing many of its services online. In 2017, OLG launched their OLG Lottery App, and the next year they launched an online lottery subscription.
