Hi,

I have recently bought a Telus box and want to know how I can reset it since the video has been freezing and glitching.

Can anyone explain the process of restarting the box and give a step-by-step guide?

I can’t seem to do it on my own, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi RoseM.

If you have a Telus digital box to stream channels and watch live TV, there may be a chance that you need to reset the box after some time.

For example, you should reset your Telus box if you encounter choppy images on the screen or if the video keeps freezing. A simple reboot of the box will likely fix the problem and allow you to return to crisp images and undisrupted streaming. You should speak to Telus customer service team for further assistance if it doesn’t.

The process of resetting the Telus box requires you to follow all of the steps in order.

The first step is to restart your modem by removing the power source and plugging it back in after 30 seconds.

If you have a fibre optic wire in your Telus modem instead of the DSL, you will have to remove the wire and then put it back in the modem after a minute. However, be careful when handling an optic wire. The wire should always be facing down at the ground. Also, avoid touching the electrical panel since it may have power that could shock you. You will know the restart process is complete when all lights turn green on the modem. Once you have restarted your modem, wait for it to come back online.

Once it is, you must disconnect your Telus box from the power source and wait for a minute or two. You should then connect the power back into the box, which will then initiate the reboot process. This will take a few minutes, so don’t be alarmed if the restart process takes too long.

You will know the box is ready to use when the Link and Power lights are back on and turn green. At this point, you should test the box to see if it’s providing live TV channels.

If it is not and the issue persists, you will need further assistance from the Telus technicians. Check out our in-depth guide to Telus customer service to learn more and how you can get in touch with them.
