Hi Phoebe,
actually, it’s pretty easy selling on eBay.

eBay is inarguably one of the most popular online shopping sites that facilitates buyers and consumers equally. If you plan to sell on eBay, you can do that by taking the following steps:

Register Your Account
Registering a business account on the platform. Make sure to choose a Canadian address on the registration page of eBay’s official website

Study the Seller School Course
The platform will send you an email with an exclusive six-unit course link that will help you learn the fundamentals of selling on eBay. Once you have initiated Seller School, eBay will contact you to offer your coupon for exclusive shipping supplies. Once the course is completed, you will be eligible for a 90-day introductory store trial, in which you will also benefit from an individual onboarding lesson with an eBay expert.

Choose a Payment Method
Then, you can set up your account and username, select a payment method to pay fees, and receive payments from buyers.

List Your Products
The next natural step will be to set up your shop and list your products. The only way to sell on eBay is to create impressive and attractive product listings. The way to do that is by taking high-quality pictures. If you don’t have an expensive camera, use your smartphone and let eBay’s apps use its tools to clean up your images and add a white background to them. Just make sure that you shoot your products in a well-lit place, take pictures from varied angles, and capture everything about the product to ensure the buyer doesn’t receive any surprises.

Choose Attractive Titles
Then, you will need to write an attractive title for your images to ensure that buyers can easily find your listing. If you write a great title, it will help your listing stand out from its competitors. Moreover, you will need to use pertinent, relevant keywords in the title to show up in prospective buyers’ search results as often as possible. Don’t use all caps in your title, as it can be off-putting. Instead, use item specifications, such as its model, colour, size, and brand.

Choose Between Auction and Buy It Now
After selecting your title, you will need to choose between Auction and Buy It Now for each product. It will depend on the product you’re selling and how quickly you want to sell it. eBay will make a recommendation based on your product, but you can choose independently. For instance, if you want to sell a collectible, it’s best to auction it as it will help you fetch a higher price for it.

Set the Right Price
When you list your product, eBay Canada will recommend a fair price based on recent sales of similar products. However, if you’d rather decide your own cost, think like a buyer and select a reasonable price. You can research the price other sellers are choosing for similar products. You can also let prospective buyers know you’re willing to negotiate the price of certain products by adding Best Offer to your listing.

Save on Shipping
Based on what you’re selling, eBay recommends you choose the finest shipping service. Once you start selling your items, you can use eBay labels to benefit from discounted shipping rates compared to the retail rates you’d have to pay at a post office. You can also offer local pickup if you’re selling locally.
