Cancelling a Bid on eBay

Sellers have the opportunity to cancel any bids that they may deem fitting. However, it is important to keep in mind that once cancelled; a bid cannot be reinstated on their auction.
Here are some instances in which you can cancel a bid on eBay:
- The buyer requests you to cancel the bid they placed on your auction.
- The item is no longer on sale, and you want to end the listing early.
- You have made an error in your listing.
- You have noticed suspicious activity from the bidder and are concerned that it may be a fraudulent bid.

Step 1 – Log in to your eBay account from which you made the listing,
Step 2 – Visit the ‘Cancelling bids placed on your listing’ page.
Step 3 – Enter the item number of your listing in the top-most box, the buyer’s username in the middlebox and your reason for cancelling the bid on the last box.
Step 4 – Click ‘Cancel bid’ once you’ve filled out the boxes correctly.
Important Note: When a seller removes a bid, eBay calls it cancelling a bid. On the other hand, if a buyer wishes to remove a bid that they made on a listing, it is called retracting a bid and the steps to do it differently.
