Yes, Eastlink, a leading Canadian telecommunications company, has announced the deployment of 5G service in select markets across Canada.

The rollout utilizes Ericsson’s high-performing Radio Access Network (RAN), designed to be energyefficient and deliver superior performance. Eastlink’s 5G network currently lives in Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver, with service slated to go live in Calgary and Edmonton in the coming months.

Eastlink’s decision to sunset 3G technology in favor of 5G is also a significant investment in the company’s future.

5G offers several advantages over 3G, including higher speeds, lower latency, and more efficient spectrum use. This will allow Eastlink to provide its customers with a better mobile experience, faster download and upload rates, higher-quality voice calls, and more responsive gaming and streaming services.

The deployment of 5G is a significant milestone for Eastlink as it continues to invest in next-generation wireless technology.

5G promises to revolutionize the way we live, work and play by delivering ultra-fast speeds. Eastlink is committed to providing the best possible experience for its customers and is poised to lead the way in the deployment of 5G across Canada.

As Eastlink continues expanding its footprint across Canada, the company has invested significantly in next-generation wireless technology. In addition to its existing LTE network, Eastlink has successfully acquired 3500MHz wireless spectrum licenses, enabling next-generation technologies powered by 5G.

While the full potential of 5G is still being explored, the new technology is expected to offer dramatically faster speeds, lower latency, and more reliable connections.

Eastlink’s decision to invest in the 5G spectrum underscores the company’s commitment to providing its customers with the latest and greatest technology.

Furthermore, this investment will position Eastlink well for the future as 5G becomes more widely adopted, with more than $300M invested in its mobile network since 2013.

5G will provide faster speeds and greater capacity and enable a new class of applications that were previously impractical due to the limitations of existing networks. This will profoundly impact many industries, particularly agriculture, transportation, manufacturing, and healthcare.

For example, in the agriculture sector, 5G will enable farmers to monitor their crops and cattle remotely and deploy autonomous vehicles for fertilization and crop spraying.

In transportation, 5G will allow cars to communicate with each other and infrastructure in real-time, paving the way for driverless vehicles.

In manufacturing, 5G will enable factories to operate at higher levels of efficiency by coordinating the activities of robots and machines on the production line.
