Lenscrafters customer care and support service

LensCrafters was founded only a few decades ago, but in that short span of time it has become a major force in the North American eyewear industry. Founded in 1983 by E. Dean Butler, LensCrafters was the first eye care chain in the business that promised its customers “crafted glasses in an hour.” Today, guests can also meet with a certified optometrist in almost every LensCrafters site and get an eye exam.

There are now around 850 store locations across the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, and even in Puerto Rico. LensCrafters is officially a subsidiary of the Milan-based Luxottica Group. Luxottica also owns Pearle Vision and Sunglass Hut International, which makes it the largest eye care company on earth.

  1. On October 4th, 2021 I went in for my annual eye exam at the optometrist office next door to the Marlborough Mall LensCrafters, Calgary Alberta Canada. I was just browsing for new eyeware since my prescription changed and I was needing to get progressive lenses. I was interested in a pair of Oakley’s which seemed to work, but was still just shopping around. A LensCrafters staff attended to me and proceeded to inquire information and prescription documents since I just had my check-up I told him I was just looking, but insisted that he could even look up my health coverage if I had a health benefits account that covered prescription eyewear. I told him that I had Sunlife coverage but was only interested in the amount I could claim and would not be immediately be purchasing that day as I wanted to shop around at other places. He said no problem and did check to find that I had upwards in the amound of $450 in coverage. I said thanks and may possibly return. I was surprised and upset to find that on that day LensCrafters processed a claim for glasses that I had not purchased. After contacting them in November 2021 then December 2021 to insist that they reverse the claim made to Sunlife and refund the amount taken, they promised they would. I have since followed up in February of 2022 then again with the store manager in April of 2022 and LensCrafters has yet to reverse the claim and refund the amount taken. Nothing short of insurance fraud and theft incovenincing me of much needed coverage and funds I need to purchase essential eyeware that was absconded from me. Signed Angry and Dissatisfied
